Our generous vegan chef, Jon Bjornstad, wanted to share his local vegan resources and recipes from our recent “What the Health” Climate Movie Circle screening. Enjoy!

Lunch menu and links to original recipes
- Lentil Loaf and Homemade Ketchup
- Golden Potatoes – boiled
- Mushroom Gravy (by Isa Chandra Moskowitz, see below)
- Curly and Dino Kale – water sautéed
- Tanya’s Peanut Sauce
- Dessert – a self-assembled “parfait” with Yogurt – Cashew or Soy, Tapioca (made with unsweetened almond milk, Maple Syru, Granol, Cashews, Blueberries, Bananas, Tango Mandarins
- PLUS chocolate chip cookies with walnuts and oats
How I eat vegan at restaurants in Davis
When I get tired of my own cooking or want to celebrate:
- Musette – bowls with many choices, rice/lentil/walnut ‘meatballs’
- Yeti – samosa chaat, many other vegan curries
- Ding How – mixed vegetables, tofu – lunch special, vegetarian menu with many faux meat entrees
- Peet’s – oatmeal, tea with splash of plant milk, muffin, plant-based breakfast sandwich
- Taqueria El Burrito – black beans, corn tortillas, guacamole, chips, salsa, beer
- Lamplighter Pizza – spaghetti with marinara and added vegetables, wine
- Ike’s Love and Sandwiches – many vegan sandwiches
- Burger Patch – vegan fast food, burger, fries, shake, many other choices
- Kathmandu – vegan thali with momo, samosa, chana masala, other curries
- Casablanca – hummus, pita, dolma, falafel
- Preeti – masala dosa, idli, vada, other North Indian vegan curries
- Blaze Pizza – vegan cheese, many vegetables on top, beer
- Woodstock Pizza – whole wheat crust, vegan cheese, vegetable toppings, beer
- Chipolte – black beans, brown rice, fajitas, guacamole, salsa
