The Climate is Calling – Will We Answer in Time?

On April 7th Cool Davis was deeply honored to receive the City of Davis Earth Day Proclamation on behalf of the community of organizations and individuals who work to make our local neighborhoods, community institutions and systems more resilient and fossil free.

With  the unrelenting news of war in our name and the onslaught of dire climate impacts – this month’s trip to the moon and the pictures of Earth remind us of the urgency to action.

For the last 16 years this June, Cool Davis has focused on climate action and community resilience! Now we must grow stronger to meet the challenges before us.  We are focused on nourishing and strengthening the work of the community, through collaborations and shared service.  We must meet this moment and adapt to new realities! You can help!

Join us as many hands ….make light work ….get more done….keep our community strong

 Stay Together!

On the occasion of the Earth Day Proclamation on April 7th  Cool Davis shared this poem from Gary Snyder.

For the Children

The rising hills, the slopes,
of statistics
lie before us.
the steep climb
of everything, going up,
up, as we all
go down.

In the next century
or the one beyond that,
they say,
are valleys, pastures,
we can meet there in peace
if we make it.

To climb these coming crests
one word to you, to
you and your children:

stay together
learn the flowers
go light
