The Cool Davis board and staff are truly humbled by the continued support of donors, partners, volunteers and “Cool” households who are taking action.  Through April and May we have talked and connected with many of you as we all find our way in the rapidly changing world around us.  We want to thank you and celebrate the fun we had too!

First, thank you to the many supporters who provided new financial wind to our wings in April and May by:

  • Supporting our transportation programming with donations of cars totaling $3800.
  • With Big Day of Giving Match donors providing $19,000. Together the total given during the Big Day of Giving was nearly $34,000
  • Special thanks to those who gave to support Cool Cuisine’s efforts to update their website and communication tools as a part of Big Day of Giving. Together with match it was $2500!
  • Thank you to the Davis Food Coop staff Ana & Liliana and the board for the opportunity to be the “Round Up” non-profit in April, raising $1776. Thanks especially to the check-out “Front End Team” — Andrew H, Molly, Rachel, Mitchell, Jarrod, Anabelle, Ella, Hannah, Ryan T, Sarah, Roberto, Ryan M, Matt, Kari, Ana, Goose, & Andy and all of you who “rounded up”.

April 5th City & Tree Davis Arbor Day Tree Planting – Talking with neighbors about Climate Ready Neighborhoods and supporting the launch of the City’s new Climate Ready Tree list!

April 12th Picnic Day Parade – Raising the flag for Climate Action and Riding Cool with DEVA in our community and region!  Come join us next year!

 

 

 

April 22nd Earth Day Potluck at Village Homes with Cool Cuisine– Thanks to Jon Bjornstad for arranging the space and for Village Homes for hosting us! There were about 45 attendees.  We read Earth & Eros poetry, shared stories and a plant-based potluck meal with neighbors from across the community!

 

 

 

 

May 4th Loopalooza – It’s always fun to see the community cruise by on their bikes.  Even on this very windy day, we talked with over 58 people about their transportation options in the community.  Thank you to the City of Davis Bike & Pedestrian program and Safe Routes to School staff for you organization of this event!
