Earth Day Planet Friendly Potluck!

Earth Day is here, and to celebrate, Cool Cuisine and Cool Davis are planning a Planet Friendly Potluck! Join us Tuesday, April 22nd from 6pm – 8pm at Village Homes Community Center for a vegan/plant-based feast. Sign up here to bring an appetizer, first course, main dish, dessert, or some of each! Volunteers are also needed for set up and take down. Plan to bring enough for at least 10 diners to each have a serving; plates, napkins, utensils, and drinks will be provided. Take a dish you love to make or a new dish you’d like to try and send your recipe to coolcuisinedavis@gmail.com!

In the context of Earth Day, Planet Friendly refers to vegan or plant-based food because it uses fewer natural resources—like land, water, and energy—and produces far fewer greenhouse gas emissions than animal agriculture, which is responsible for approximately 12% of global emissions, largely from methane released by livestock (UN Food and Agriculture Organization, 2023). It also helps combat deforestation and both land and sea biodiversity loss driven by meat production. If you’d like to celebrate Earth and have a delicious meal, sign up to bring a dish and get together with other planet-conscious gastronomes!
