RIDING COOL – Community Connection at the Pavilion

RIDE COOL – EVs@thePavilion and Transportation Fair was an important day for Cool Davis; the Davis Electric Vehicle Association (DEVA) and Sacramento Electric Vehicle Association (SacEV), worked together to make the Pavilion a gathering place for EV owners, prospective buyers, EV and E-bike businesses, and local bike advocacy organizations.

Amazing Range of Electric Vehicles

Attendees had the opportunity to see and learn about a broad selection of electric vehicles. The lineup included the Chevy Silverado EV, Tesla Cybertruck, Kia Niro, Cadillac Optiq, Chevy Equinox, and Hyundai Ioniq 5. Local Ford and Chevy dealerships were also on site, offering test rides in the F-150 Lightning, Mach-E, and Chevy Blazer EV.

In total, there were 26 plug-in vehicles available for display and test drives, giving attendees the chance to explore electric mobility from multiple perspectives.

Some car companies lowered the prices for a limited time to compensate for the now missing federal rebate.

Community Engagement and Support

The weather stayed cool, and attendance picked up as the Sunday brunch crowd came through. Over the course of the day, volunteers and EV owners reported nearly 900 conversations with visitors interested in learning more about electric transportation.

Cool Davis could not do this every year without the ongoing support of the City of Davis and their staff.  The City provides financial support for Cool Davis regular programs like our Ride Cool education activities.

In addition to the National Drive Electric Month sponsors, Cool Davis was pleased to have HMP Bikes as a local sponsor this year. Exhibitors included UC Davis ITS: ECO Car Team, Yolo County Sustainability Division, Cycling Without Age, EV Plugbox LLC, Aptera Motors, Yolo County Bike and Pedestrian Safety, Bike Davis, Sacramento Area Bicycle Advocates, APEX Cycles, SPIN, and Valley Clean Energy.

A Collaborative Effort

Events like this depend on strong community participation. We appreciate the time and effort of our volunteers, exhibitors, and EV owners who made the day possible. From setup to clean-up, their involvement helped ensure that visitors could learn directly from experienced EV drivers and local organizations working toward a cleaner transportation future.
