Robert Arneson Park

Tree Davis and the City of Davis have partnered to promote Climate-Ready Landscapes: spaces that are visually vibrant, drought tolerant, water thrifty, and support local nature. Recently, they converted much of the greenbelt between White Sands and Shasta Drive into a Climate-Ready Landscape, and are eagerly looking for opportunities to create similar spaces in other parts of Davis, such as Robert Arneson Park. Now, they hope to take portions of the park that remain underutilized and transform them into pollinator gardens and mini-forests. The shrubs and plants selected for these spaces attract pollinators, are beautiful to look at, and are compatible with the growth of young trees in the area. Ultimately, Climate-Ready Landscapes serve as a model for communities to embrace a more sustainable approach for green spaces. You can learn more about Climate-Ready Landscapes projects here.
