In 2010, Cool Davis was formally launched following a unanimous vote by the Davis City Council to work towards total carbon neutrality by 2050, a date since moved forward to 2040 by the City of Davis. The mission of Cool Davis is to inspire their community to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, adapt to climate change, and improve the quality of life for all. “Yolo Federal Credit Union is a founding partner of Cool Davis that has supported our mission in the community since 2010,” said Chris Granger, Cool Davis, Executive Director. “It is fitting as we move further into our next decade of work to have Yolo Federal again partner with us to support the expansion of our programs to meet our community goals for 2030 and beyond.”

The Cool Davis Coalition is a network of 80 plus partner organizations and individuals committed to its mission. The Coalition organizes educational forums, advocates on climate issues, and participates in other collaborative projects. “As we enter 2022, Cool Davis is working right now on the expansion of our programs to households in the Davis community and beyond,” said Jason Bone, President of the Cool Davis Board of Directors. “This funding will help ensure stable programs and services to households this year, especially as they make difficult decisions to change their homes and households to reduce greenhouse gasses and adapt to a new climate.”

“We are delighted to amplify the financial support that our member Yolo Federal Credit Union is providing to Cool Davis with our matching funds,” said Marietta Núñez, Senior Vice President and Community Investment Officer at FHLBank San Francisco. “Cool Davis’ approach to helping people in the community reduce their greenhouse emissions and adapt to a changing climate is unique, highly creative, and clearly having an impact.”
