Driving on Sunshine Week: Program and Resources
Did you receive this postcard about re-roofing and solar?
Solar photovoltaic (PV) systems last about as long as a new roof. Cash in on solar tax credits and avoid system remove and replace fees by starting with your roof. Make sure to take our survey for COOL prizes and to take advantage of follow up support opportunities with Cool Davis.
Take our survey for prizes!
Cool Davis likes to learn where you’re coming from and if we helped you move forward with your decision-making on Cool Solutions like driving an electric vehicle and getting solar and backup battery systems for your home. If you’re thinking about a solar system and your roof happens to be on the older side, this is for you! Fill in this survey to receive a Cool Davis veggie bag and Farmer’s Market bucks. STARTING SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 26 – NATIONAL SOLAR TOUR
Driving on Sunshine is a week-long series of online, from-home events with
community sharing opportunities slated for the week of September 26 to October 4, 2020, hosted by Cool Davis, the Cool Davis solar task force, the City of Davis, SacEv, and the Davis Electric Vehicle Association (DEVA). Register in advance for educational webinars and mark your calendar to watch homemade “tour” videos to learn about installing rooftop solar at your home, making use of battery backup systems to avoid service interruptions and peak usage, and purchasing and incorporating electric vehicles into your life!
Cool Davis and our partners will be “running” the Driving on Sunshine event from this news post, a new one for us for sure! We hope to return to in-person events in the future (we miss you!), but, for now, this news post is the right place to access all the events and opportunities to incorporate solar, batteries, electric vehicles, and much more into your groove!

Breathe Free with EVs (Electric Vehicles) Webinar (Sept 30th 5:30pm PST) Meet and greet members of our community who drive electric vehicles and learn more about how you can purchase your own new or used electric vehicle. The webinar will open early with EV 101 basics, begin with an introduction and a short discussion breakout, followed by a panel of EV owners who will chat about their experiences with an optional video tour. Breakout sessions will focus on particular car models, rebates, pairing EVs with rooftop solar, and buying a used EV. This webinar is one way we’re celebrating National Drive Electric Week. Partners include Cool Davis, the City of Davis, SacEV, the Davis Electric Vehicle Association (DEVA), and National Drive Electric Week. REGISTER HERE
Equity specialist Marisol Sifuentes with the Center for Sustainable Energy will present in the CVRP breakout room. Ms. Sifuentes reports that “There are many opportunities for Californians to get rebates on purchasing or leasing electric cars, starting with incentives from the Clean Vehicle Rebate Project that offers up to $7,000 for eligible models for people with low-to-moderate incomes. More than 30 models qualify for the rebates,” Sifuentes said. “Then there are incentives for both cars and electric vehicle chargers available from local agencies and utilities, as well as the opportunity to get a federal tax credit up to $7,500. We have complete information on our website at CleanVehicleRebate.org.” Sifuentes will also present the following day as part of the “Go Green and Get Green Sacramento” webinar, October 1, 2020, at 6:30pm PST to highlight electric vehicle incentives. For more information about the “Go Green” webinar, contact Marisol Sifuentes at marisol.sifuentes@energycenter.org.  Sign up for this National Drive Electric Week national webinar at https://driveelectricweek.org/events-list.
