Electric Vehicle Charging Update
(By Shelby Kelley, Transportation coordinator) Cool Davis is currently working alongside the City of Davis, Valley Climate Action Center, and the UCD Institute of Transportation Studies to plan the next 10 years of electric vehicle (EV) charging in Davis.
Cool Davis outreach to the community led to 57 people responding to our interest survey. As a result, we’ve held two focus groups for EV owners and are now seeking to get more information and need your support.
The focus groups were extremely informative and helpful in understanding the wants and needs of Davis drivers. They were so helpful that we’ve decided we want to hold two more! One will be with those of you who are considering buying an EV in the future and the other will be a gathering of female EV Drivers.
We are also planning on having meetings with the business community to discuss their EV charging needs. Whether they be for customers, employees, or their own fleets. Keep an eye out for other updates and events as we continue gathering input for this plan.
Other EV news:
- Watch Level 2 charging being installed on Ask This Old House.
- June 10th: Go race your EV at the drag strip in Sacramento or stop by and join the crowd. 4-7pm at Sacramento Raceway: 5305 Excelsior Rd, Sacramento, CA. $10/car to race, $7/spectator
If you would like to be a participant in either of these focus groups or if you would like to participate in this planning in some other way, please fill out this brief survey.
