Clips of Faith, Beer and Film tour
It is that time of year again when beer and fundraising for your favorite bicycle advocates is back! Clips of Faith, Beer and Film tour will again be in Central Park on Friday, July 26th from 7:30-10:00 p.m. There is no cost to get in and all proceeds made from beer and merchandise sales will be donated to Davis Bicycles! .
A few years back New Belgium Brewing, one of the nation’s largest craft brewers, decided to bestow upon Davis the honor of being one of 18 cities to host their beer and film tour, Clips of Faith. The tour’s other stops includes cities like Seattle and Portland.
‘Clips’ is a national one-of-a-kind event that offers people a chance to try New Belgium’s beer offerings and pair them with inspiring short films created by fans. The event will have up to 16 beers on tap, including the unique and often difficult to find beers from their Lips of Faith series (the name from which the title of the festival was derived) as well as their popular classics. Beer is served in 3 oz. samples or a 12 oz. pour. Food will be available from local vendors, but attendees are welcome to bring outside food if they please.
The festival is now in its fourth year and has grown rapidly. Last year, the Davis stop alone had about 1,300 in attendance and raised more than $8,000, beating every other city in the tour.
Spend a summer evening watching films, sipping beer under the stars, and supporting our bicycling action organizations! Check out the event on Facebook. If you would like to volunteer to help, contact: info@davisbicycles.org .

Cool Davis is hoping all our friends living in Rancho Yolo remain well! This is a reminder of our fragile grid and the need to look after each other during heat emergencies. Hurray that the City of Davis City now has Social Services staff to join City of Davis Fire Department to assist when a vulnerable neighborhood's power goes down.
For other down neighborhoods - remember to check on your neighbors! If your power is still on consider ways to reduce your energy use pre-cool , cover windows, delay appliance use, double up with neighbors in a cool location - cooling center (see City post for cooling center info), movie theater etc to reduce loads. After the emergency, move forward on your plans for how you will reduce and manage energy use in the future. We have to stand together to adapt to new climate challenges. Cool Davis and our many partners are here to help.
