Cool Davis at Picnic in the Park
Cool Davis is excited about this year’s first “Picnic in the Park” at the Farmer’s Market in Central Park from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm. on Wednesday, March 20. Come find our booth near the caterpillar.
Our Community Action Team (CAT) will be on hand to share helpful information with the community about upcoming events and resources that can help bring our city closer to the goal of engaging 75% of our community to reduce carbon emissions 15% below 1990 levels by 2015 with the ultimate goal of reaching carbon neutrality by 2050.
Natural Resources Commission Guest
We will be joined by a representative from the Natural Resources Commission (NRC) who can answer questions about their goal to divert 75% of waste from landfills by the year 2020 with the ultimate goal of moving towards zero waste.
The NRC will be holding a workshop at the Veterans Memorial Center Club Room at 203 East 14th Street, Thursday, March 21st at 6:00 p.m. Find out more at our booth.
Earth Hour Saturday, March 23rd at 8:30-9:30 p.m.
Have you marked Earth Hour on your calendar yet? On Saturday, March 23rd, we encourage everyone to gather friends and family to spend from 8:30-9:30 p.m. together in the dark. Learn more about this global event Uniting People to Protect People at our booth.
World Water Day is on our radar, too. This event is celebrated globally on March 22. Feel free to visit our table and share your most creative water conservation stories.
Best compost bin
For anyone interested in helping us move toward a zero waste goal, stop by and check out the best deal in town: a compost bin that is super easy to set up and only costs $10! You can learn more about composting, too, unless you would rather share your expertise with the rest of us.
And, of course, all of our kids are welcome to come draw with us. Paper and crayons, and hoops, too, will be waiting for them to engage with in whatever way their creative spirits see fit.
Hope to see you at the picnic!
