350.org, Sierra Club, Credo, NRDC, CALPRIG, Rainforest Action Network, and many other organizations have joined together to reach out to President Obama in climate rallies in cities across the country on Presidents’ Day.  The grassroots effort is called Forward on Climate.

On February 17, Presidents’ Day, the Forward on Climate Rally in Washington DC will urge the President to “stop the climate-killing Keystone XL pipeline.” This is expected to be the biggest climate demonstration yet.

Closer to home, the Forward on Climate Rally in San Francisco needs folks to attend.  Please join thousands on Sunday, February 17, from 1-3 pm at One Market Street to encircle the State Department Office.  One option is to leave from Old Sacramento on the 10:20 am Megabus (a double-decker bus that can cost from $1 to $10 one way–with wifi!). Or take Amtrak from Davis or carpool to a BART station.  350 Bay Area is still looking for volunteers and there are tips for making signs on their website. Please RSVP so that rally organizers know how many people to expect.
