Davis is once again attracting national and international attention, this time for its innovative and highly engaged community efforts around the issues of climate change and sustainability.

David Gershon, White House and UN advisor, author and leading authority on social innovations will be visiting Davis next week to explore how communities can overcome the challenges of climate change and position themselves to be successful in a low/no carbon future.Mr. Gershon, author of the Low Carbon Diet and Social Change 2.0, will be the featured speaker at a free public forum hosted by the Cool Davis Initiative and the City of Davis.

He will outline the Cool City Challenge, a pragmatic program designed to show how 6 cities in the US and Brazil can combine technical and social innovation to build prosperous, thriving communities in the face of increasing climate instability.
