Start by Making a Plan

Whether you’re facing an aging heating or cooling system, considering solar or electrification, or simply want to make your home more comfortable and efficient, the workshop will help you think through what to do, when to do it, and how to prepare.

Make a Plan is a practical approach to home energy upgrades. Rather than waiting until a major appliance or system fails, homeowners can look ahead, consider their options, and develop a roadmap for improvements.

The workshop will cover ways to:

• Identify the upgrades and daily routines that can make the biggest difference in comfort and efficiency

• Think ahead about heating, cooling, water heating, and other major equipment

• Understand potential energy and cost savings

• Find rebates, incentives, and other resources that may help pay for improvements

• Plan for electrification in a way that fits your home and your priorities

• Take practical next steps after the workshop

A Tool for Understanding Your Home

The workshop will also introduce the Home Energy Score California, a program based on a U.S. Department of Energy tool that gives homes a simple 1–10 energy-efficiency rating and provides personalized recommendations for improvements.

A Home Energy Score can help homeowners understand how their home uses energy and identify opportunities to improve comfort, reduce energy waste, and manage energy costs.

See Real World Examples

Following the workshop, the event also includes Electric Home Tours, giving participants a chance to see electrification in practice and get ideas from real homes.

Tour locations and participating homes will be provided after registration and on site at the workshop and tour sites.

November 1st is an opportunity to make a plan, understand your options, and see what’s possible.
