Join Cool Davis Working Groups -- Davis Futures Forum and Yolo Mobility as they host guest speaker Susan Handy, Director National Center for Sustainable Transportation offering her perspective on the current planning for I-80 traffic congestion and the Yolo Causeway.
The Caltrans proposed solution is to increase the number of traffic lanes on the section running through Davis. But research at the UC Davis Institute of Transportation Studies shows that attempts to address congestion by adding lanes increasing capacity only works for a short time before the lanes are filled again by new drivers.
Her presentation will be followed by a diverse panel who will give us their thoughts about how best to move forward.
