Downtown Davis Plan Team to Host 4-Day Design Workshop

From April 24 to April 28, the Downtown Davis Plan team will host a four day participatory design workshop at Davis Community Church Fellowship Hall including presentations and open studio events.

The workshop is an opportunity for community members to collaborate with the team to craft the 2040 vision for Downtown Davis. Stop by during the scheduled events to give your feedback and help plan for the future.

Big  Day of Giving at the Dock Set for May 3rd

As the Big Day of Giving – affectionately known as Big Dog — gears up for its fifth year, three local non-profits have teamed up to create a community event with a focus on fun and philanthropy. Davis Media Access, Davis Music Festival and Davis Phoenix Coalition are the combined force behind “Big Day at the Dock” to be held Thursday, May 3, 2018, from 6-10 p.m. at the Sudwerk Brewing Co. Dock Store, 2001 Second Street in Davis.

Cool Davis appreciates the dedication of staff and council and wishes to continue to cultivate our partnership as we work towards our shared goals. We also look forward to working with new staff and council as we move through transitions of roles, personnel, and officials. ARBORETUM DISCOVERY TOURS April 22nd: Celebrate Earth Day at the UC Davis Arboretum with Learning by Leading Museum Education interns and the UC Master Gardeners of Yolo County on one of three interactive Sunday tours of the Arboretum’s Environmental GATEway!

GREEN GARDENING CLASSES April 25th: Trees provide clean air, beauty, wildlife habitats and they reduce energy costs associated with heating and cooling buildings. Join us at a class to learn more about the trees that surround us: how to choose the right trees, how to prune, mulch and water trees, and about the habitats that our urban forest provides to local wildlife.

DAVIS MAKERSPACE REPAIR CAFE April 22nd: A repair cafe is where people get together to help each other repair or improve. Volunteers will provide help with tools and parts and 3-D printers.
