The Davis Food Coop, a long-term coalition partner, has generously selected Cool Davis to be a beneficiary in their new Earth Day Giveaway!

Rather than  spending $3,000 on reusable bags as they have in the past, they decided to let their shoppers vote on donating funds to three local environmental organizations (Cool Davis, The Center for Land-Based Learning, and Tree Davis.)

On April 22, shoppers will have the opportunity to literally vote with their dollars at the Co-op. After shopping, you will be able to drop your receipts in a box marked for one of the three organizations including Cool Davis. We’ll total up the dollars voted and divide the money proportionately.

So if you shop regularly at the Coop or have yet to browse its great selections, please try and make an extra special effort to be there on 22nd and vote for Cool Davis. The money used will help our work supporting local residents to transition to a low-carbon lifestyle.

Chris Granger, executive director of Cool Davis, said: “The Davis Food Coop has been a committed coalition partner for a number of years  – not just supporting our work financially but also showcasing how businesses’ can radically reduce their own carbon emissions. We are both grateful and proud to be working together this Earth Day to reduce our environmental impact on this planet.”
