“The Quest for Local Honey” will be screened at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Davis, 27074 Patwin Rd., Davis, CA on Friday, April 18 from 7-9pm. All are invited for the film and discussion, plus a taste of honey afterwards! Suggested donation of $5-10 goes toward a fund for a water source on the church grounds that will support bees and other wildlife.

Billions of bees are dying. In California, the biggest food producer in the US, beekeepers are losing 40% of their bees each year. Scientists are sounding the alarm about pesticides that are toxic to bees, and say we’re using way more pesticides on our crops than we need. But as with oil companies and climate change, big drug companies that sell pesticides are fighting back with corporate-funded junk science that questions the evidence and gives politicians an excuse to delay.

Come for a taste of local honey and stay for the “Quest for Local Honey.” Written and produced by people in Nevada City, highlighting Nevada and Placer County, CA, the film describes what we can do to help the fragile and imperiled world of bees.
